Our Woods - Spinning New Dreams - Scoping

For the past few years artist Phiona Richards and I have been working together, mainly in Lincolnshire for Transported Art, as The Eloquent Fold.

We are delighted to have been commissioned to create a walk and a workshop for the Deep Roots Tall Trees "Our Woods" Festival.

Our events are called Spinning New Dreams taking place on Sunday 4th and 11th September in East Carlton Park. The walk is quite short in terms of distance but we hope to help participants make a hop, step and a jump in terms of imagination and inspiration!

We have spent quite a bit of time

scoping in the park, getting to know it's pathways

deciding which way to go and what to do where.

We also spent a rainy afternoon in the cafe

embellishing some rather plain, spotty teapots

as we're planning a lovely afternoon tea at the end

of our print and stitch session on the 11th.

We've been enjoying changing colours of
the leaves and berries and are looking forward
to sharing this lovely woodland park with you.

If you feel tempted to join us for the walk on Sunday 4th - Book Tickets here and / or for the creative workshop on Sunday 11 September - Book Tickets here.

Continuum - a New Commission for Miles and Dacombe

Deep Roots Tall Trees -  Dreaming Our Woods

Jo Dacombe and I were delighted to be commissioned by Deep Roots Tall Trees to create a walk with interventions for the Our Woods Festival. We have a period of research to walk and create together in Thoroughsale Woods. We will be exploring the seasons and our walk will be called Continuum. Very exciting, I hope you can join us!

Preparing to be Transported

Last year Phiona Richards and I went on a creative adventure together as engagement artists for Transported Phase 1.

This June and July we are heading out to Lincolnshire once more as The Eloquent Fold and we'll be two of the artists working on the Transported Open Book strand.

Our mornings will be spent working with the public making "A Flock of Words", which will result in a piece of work made by participants for Spalding, Crowland and Long Sutton Libraries.

There will be a break for Cake and Conversation where we hope library users will join us and share their stories of home and away. Then during the afternoon Phiona and I will work on a collaborative piece "Crumbs From the Word Table" for each Library.

Inspiration in anticipation found during a derive in Harpole.

We have been preparing and gathering materials

We are really looking forward to working in Lincolnshire again so if  you are near Spalding, Crowland or Long Sutton Library we really hope you'll join us! For more information see Upcoming Events

After my visit to Kew Gardens I was describing the beauty of the water lilies to Ann Leonard, the Office Manager for AES Europe a partnership of freshwater environment experts with a wealth of experience in monitoring and managing water quality and aquatic ecosystems.

I'm a big fan of the company especially as both Ann and the company donated the stakes and mesh for the Jubilee Tree Planting I organised in Brigstock earlier this year.

I showed Ann the wild flower seed paper multiples I'd made for Deep Roots Tall Trees. Ann thought something similar might be a lovely thing to send to their clients this Christmas so I used one of the images I'd taken at Kew (see image above). You can see the other images I made for AES to choose from here,  the image above was the one they chose.

I've been very touched to read Tweets from AES about them, happy customers, happy me!

Received great limited edition prints made by  for our clients for xmas... they are so lovely. Everyone thrilled with them!

Writing the cards and putting in limited edition prints . . . lucky clients! Prints made by
